In Nathan the firth thing that caught my eye was ho the foreigners say that Americans do not follow through with their plan to get together. Students here at Bloomsburg constantly ask how are you doing without intentions of actually starting a conversation or will say "we should go out sometime" when they do not even have a way to contact you again. That is the first comparison that I noticed. I also agree with Nathan that American students have much more independence. I have had the same issue with my past two roommates where we were not close at all and would only talk occasionally. There are many other students that go through that around Bloomsburg also, it gives us a sense of freedom however, because we do not have to really ask anyone for permission to do things. In Rose, I feel that it is a great thing to teach students hand on because it gives them a better understanding of how things work. Mr.G seems like the perfect teacher for his students and realizes how important it is to teach his students this way. For example, students can come to college for 4 years and learn everything they need to know, but if they have never actually done it hands on, when the time comes to do there job, they will be unsure about what to do because they have never actually done it themselves. I feel like it is also a great method because it gives the students some control over what they need to do and makes them pause and think about what is the best solution to solve each problem.
